“We’re glad we got it because it’s made life a lot easier. We ended up getting another one!”
With horses, alpacas, a donkey, and more than 35 acres to maintain, keeping paddocks clean had become increasingly difficult, especially with the fine manure produced by alpacas.
Before discovering the Tow and Collect, the team relied on wheelbarrows, pitchforks, and manual labour to manage manure across the property. Searching for a more efficient solution, Ryan came across the Tow and Collect, and it “worked like a champ.”
Today, the farm operates two Tow and Collect units – one for the alpacas and one for the horses. The machine’s ease of use, quick hitch system, and simple unloading process have made manure collection faster, cleaner, and far less physically demanding. “It made life so much easier,” Ryan explains. “And my back doesn’t hurt.”
Beyond efficiency, the Kings were equally impressed by the machine’s durability. After two years of continuous outdoor use in all weather conditions, the Tow and Collect has required no replacement parts and continues to perform reliably.
Ryan admits he was initially concerned about how the machine would handle harsh winter conditions. But despite exposure to snow and ice, the Tow and Collect kept performing without issue: “There’s not a lick of rust anywhere on it, and nothing seized up.”
For the King family, the impact goes beyond saving time and physical effort. Cleaner paddocks, fewer flies, and a more manageable routine have helped create a healthier and more enjoyable environment for both animals and people.
“We love it. I mean, as much as you can love a device that picks up manure.”
